Background
Promoting Interoperability Program (PIP), formerly known as Meaningful Use, is a core component of the Medicare Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). The program is designed to provide incentive payments to eligible professionals and eligible hospitals as the demonstrate adoption, implementation, upgrading or meaningful use of certified electronic health records technology.
